So this is what Canon’s Remote Capture software looks like. Bad? Well yes, but I am impressed they chose to port it to the Mac at all - I mean, it must be targeted at a very niche market? So ok, it doesn’t look too good, but it works. What it does is it allows you to control your Canon camera from your Mac. Snap images, schedule it, zoom, whatever. Kinda cool really.

So this made me think… with a camera like mine. With optics like this. Wow what a great webcam that would make. Best quality on the block for sure! Battery life isn’t too good on the camera, and you need to remove it and put it in this fancy docking station to recharge, but still - what an awesome webcam! It sure wouldn’t be too hard. I could use the schedule feature, save image to drive, and make something upload it at a given interval. Or I could write a AppleScript-thingie to do it all. Alternatively, if the code for communicating with the camera was sorta open, it could be integrated into any webcam software. Whatcha think? Guess iSight does it for now…

Got this guy (or girl) a couple days ago. Problem is, he, she, it, whatever, don’t have a name yet. Suggestions?

So while I tinkered with my site today (ooo, new webcam stuff people - look!), my brother-in-law called me up (from his cellphone). So he were in town, and were going to see The Hulk, and he asked if I would join him. Obviously I did. Going out and doing something social rocks, and since it’s not something that happens everyday, I had to grab the chance. So 30 min. later I were there. Then it turns out that the two of us are the only ones who ordered tickets (you know, its not the latest movie…). So, there we were, and we got the entire hall for ourselves. It wasn’t really a big one though. 5 rows and 60 seats in total (yes I counted them). One screen, and probably just 2 speakers behind it. No surround here nah.

The movie was pretty good. I haven’t read any of the comics, so I can’t tell how true it was to the books, but people say its good. The cutting also made it feel a bit more like a comic, which was cool. Yeah, I like superheros, I think. Hope to catch Terminator 3 next week (premier this Friday).

I would have taken a picture of the movie hall, and thousands of other things on my way back to the car (city by night is really cool ya know) - but as always, the one time when you most need your camera… is the one time you leave it at home. Well, more forgot it this time really. I were in a rush…

Just a quick note to let you know my GetMeHosted review is up over at the Sofa. So go read.

Look what iPhoto did! Dragging the photo into Photoshop displays it properly, however iPhoto somehow believes the image is a portrait or something. Probably a bug with iPhoto and my camera, which gained OSX support in the recent 10.2.6 update (new camera). It shows up properly in Image Capture though, and I thought that’s what iPhoto relied on? Also, what’s up with the auto-rotate feature of my camera? I thought it was supposed to automatically rotate portrait images - but maybe you need to use Canon’s own software for that? Not if they payed me!

iPhoto is slow, especially when you have many and large images in the library. Might switch to using Image Capture and the browse feature in Graphic Converter

Why are images acting so weird in MT? It must be the default templates, but what is it about them that cause this overlapping? It almost appears as if it’s using layers. I have a photoblog (well more of a gallery really), but I would still like to post images in my default blog. Share your tips :)
Update:
Put it all (images and text) in a table, which solved it partly. Would need to tweak the table if I wanted it to look even better though (more air). And, for some reason, there is this big empty hole at the top?? Tips?

We went bathing (we being me and Bendik)

Unfortunately, there was a bunch of other losers were we planned on having our little dip

Even *I* were kinda knocked out

Bendik insists that he have found the perfect alternate location

So this is where we cooled down. Full of rocks, but nice nevertheless. 22°C in the water

And then we drove home…

Dear Diary

02Aug03

“Man get your own blog! It’s just like a diary, for the digital age!”

Forcer has started his own sect and is worshipping for more people to join his league of bloggers. I’ve been working most of the week, and here I am, ending up having nothing to blog about. If this was a diary, I wouldn’t have to write anything. It’s MY diary, I decide when to write and what to write. Since it’s public though, it’s like I feel committed to writing something, not for my own sake, but for everyone else… thats not right.

I’m hunting for new domain names, and as such, could anyone direct me to SERIOUS places where I can get dirt-cheap ones? Like under $10 each. I have really enjoyed the service from Redirection.net, but I know I can get cheaper!

Oh, and iSight is great!
