Attack of the clones?
08Mar07
I was browsing everymac.com the other day, when I stumbled upon the section of Mac clones. Shaye was a Motorola-sublicensee, selling Mac clones in the UK back in 1997. Something about their model names was just a bit too familiar however…
Which of these computers would you have picked?
Cheetah 200 (OS X 10.0 code name)
Puma 200 (OS X 10.1 code name)
Jaguar 200 (OS X 10.2 code name)
Panther 200 (OS X 10.3 code name)
Tiger 200 (OS X 10.4 code name)
Leopard 200 (OS X 10.5 code name)
The only model names not yet made into a version of OS X are Lion and Lynx. Which one do you think will be OS X 10.6?

Interesting
Ocelot 200 could be another nice name.
Windows supporters would probably come up with Hyena 200…
10.6 == Cougar
10.7 == Lynx (if released)
“It’s been common knowledge for a while now that the upcoming 10.5 “Leopard” release will be the last version of OS X.”

Nice try Ooble, but I noticed the posted date on that story. Oh well, Linux kernel eh? One could dream…
