Was it a keynote?

Well you know which event I’m referring to anyways.

The new iMacs look gorgeous. No doubt about it. I’m particularly fond of the fact that the GPU is DirectX 10 compatible. Hello Vista gaming!

I love the new keyboards, but why did they choose a different design for the wireless version? It’s not that I hate it because it lacks the keypad (well, a bit maybe), but why? Wouldn’t it be easier to just make one keyboard, and then put a wireless thingie into half of them? I mean, the wireless and wired versions are NOTHING alike. Nothing!

The Mac mini lives on! I’m so happy they didn’t give it the axe just yet. Hopefully I’ll pick one up for a media center later in the year (and don’t even mention the Apple TV to me).

iLife and iWork got some decent updates I guess, but I’ll have to play with them first to know for sure. Or at least finish downloading the guided tour, a tiny 765 MB download.

Whoa, an entire post without a single link? Yes, it’s the new, lazy me.

What did y’all think about the new products? Anything you’ll be picking up?

Will probably be picking up iLife ’08 and perhaps iWork a bit later on… The new iMac sure is dreamy but I hope that I can hold on to the rest of the money I earned this summer a bit longer…

Definitely iLife and iWork ’08, those new features and Numbers are looking really good.

I just picked up the new iLife today because the family pack for iWork wasn’t available. =( Oh well. I’ll get it next time I’m near there. The iMacs were in the back but not on display so I guess today wasn’t a great time to go.

iLife `08 is really awesome. iPhoto and iMovie are the only apps that were dramatically improved of course but the other apps, even though they were small updates, are much better. iWeb has a new embed web widget thing which is really cool! And GarageBand now supports notation printing. All of these little updates are highly requested features which are now making their way into the apps. I’m glad I purchased iLife `08. I think it’s worth it.

iWork `08 is amazing. Pages is now a full fledged word processor which I’m thankful for. Keynote has some great new transitions, but the best part in my opinion is the A to B build feature. I think Instant Alpha has some bugs to work out. =P Numbers has got to be the best spreadsheet app ever. Everything just seems to flow and fit. Anyway, until I buy iWork `08, the 30 day demo will do just fine.

I agree with all of you. I think iLife and iWork is worth the price for just about anyone. And iWork more now than ever, with a brand new app added in. Which DOES look slick 🙂

I ordered both a couple of days ago… The trial version of iWork, and especially Numbers, convinced me to buy the iWork package aswell…
